Football journalism or sports journalism in general has been plagued by click-baiting since corporates discovered Google Ad Sense. At the Substitute, we write for the love of writing.

We are a group of journalists who have been published around the world - from 442 to VICE. With The Substitute, we aim to start a crowdfunding project built to bring indepth football reporting back to the forefront.
